‘The Manual For Good Wives’ is a dual time historical novel that tells the story of Temi, a 19th century African princess who reinvents herself as Mrs Adeline Copplefield and Landri, her modern-day descendant. In our coffee break, Lola Jaye will discusses writing genteel Black Victorian women who owned homes rather than worked as maids. Her latest novel challenges publishing norms and hopefully answers the question, ‘What stories need telling?
